David Ellison the Chief Executive Fork Lift Truck Association makes some very valid points in his article about the risks of cutting back on servicing and maintenance of all types of lifting equipment.
His article raises a question about Thorough Examinations asking –
“Nobody ever checks the date of the Thorough Examination – do they?”
and answers
“Suppose one of your fork lift trucks hits a stanchion. The enforcing officer will ask to see Reports of Thorough Examination for the truck involved – as well as all of your other trucks.”
